Let’s be honest. Most of us aren’t great at understanding our own emotions. We react, we overreact, or we just shut down. But here’s the thing: if you can’t recognise what you’re feeling, you’ll keep making the same mistakes – in your personal life, your work, even your side hustle.

Getting Real About Your Feelings

  1. Your mood runs the show.
    Think about it. When you’re in a good head space, even spreadsheets don’t seem that bad. But when you’re off? Suddenly, your favourite coffee tastes bitter, and your inbox feels like a personal attack. Being aware of your emotions isn’t just “self-help fluff“. It’s survival.

  2. People notice (even when you think they don’t).
    Ever had someone ask, “What’s wrong?” when you thought you were hiding it? Yeah. We’re terrible at faking emotions. Nail the wrong reaction (like laughing at bad news or zoning out during a friend’s big moment) and trust takes a hit.
