How do your emotions affect your behaviour, relationships… and learning?

How Feelings Influence Your Performance 🎉

As a human being, you are neuro-biologically wired to need all your emotions for thinking, problem-solving, and focused attention. When a continuous stream of emotions hijacks your frontal lobe, your brain’s design changes, interfering with your ability to remember, retrieve, transfer, and connect all new information to what you already know.

This doesn’t only apply to negative emotions such as fear, anger, anxiety, frustration, and sadness. Think of times when positive emotions such as excitement or love have taken over your logical brain.

While we need negative emotions just as much as the positive, we are going to simplify how you can reign in the negative voice in your head which may be adversely affecting your productivity.

What You Perceive And Expect Is What You Get

According to scientists, “neuroplasticity is the brain’s capacity to rewire by strengthening pathways between neurons that are exercised and used while weakening connections between cellular pathways that are not used or retrieved.

Rewiring our brain circuits is experience-dependent. We can change the synapses or connections that are firing by changing a perception or behaviour. Neuroplasticity includes re framing or reappraising an experience, event, or relationship so that we observe and experience a different outcome. What we perceive and expect is what we get! The brain sees and responds to perception, not reality. Negative lingering brain states can become neural traits that are hardwired into our circuitry. Neuroplasticity is the best news from neuroscience in recent years.”

Transformative Mental Development

You are constantly creating memories, but what makes them significant are the emotions attached to these past events, experiences, and relationships. Emotions drive your attention and perception – forming positive and negative core memories.

By changing your thinking and processing of emotions, you can, with time, rewire your mind for a more productive outcome.
